Black Hammock Fish Camp ~ Liars Lodge ~ Oviedo Florida   1970's

I lived at Black Hammock Fish Camp for about 6 months in a little trailer next to a canal.  You could listen to the gators bellow at night.  It's grown.  There's a gift shop and new bar there now.  If you get out that way check it out.  It's still a good place to relax and enjoy.

I never could shoot pool very good.  Always did better after a few beers.

The River Rat, (right) Gator (gold collar) the owners son and his dogs..  The River Rat hated to have his picture taken.  Got mad at me for trying.  We used to sit on his boat in the last stall and drink beer and talk about life.  Fish Camp people would stop by.  The owner would slip away from his wife for a quick beer sometimes.

The owners daughters.  The one on the left was a topless dancer.  I went to see her once.  Unfortunately she liked biker types.  Her dad didn't like that at all.

Dancer on a motorcycle.  Her boyfriend rode a chopper and was said  to be in a gang.

I used to cuss the owls for all the film it took to finally get some pictures.

The owner of Liar's Lodge (right) with Jim, a regular.  I told Jim about cussin the owls because it was so hard to get a picture of them.  He told me he hoped they cussed me right back.

It wasn't legal to kill the gator but that didn't help the gator none.  They got him on the truck and got him out of there pretty fast.  This might have been the gator that took a rather large bite out of a kayak during mating season.  The inhabitants of the kayak were said to have walked on water to get to the shore.

His name was Hobby and he wasn't afraid to give you his opinion while enjoying his chew..

Hobby all dressed up and in a good mood.  Some say it ain't Hobby.  I say it is.
